Information
Lize Beekman, Afrikaans singer and songwriter is perceived as one of our country’s most talented songwriters. Apart from performing her own songs, she has also written lyrics for well known artists including: Laurika Rauch, Coenie de Villiers, Amanda Strydom en Elzabé Zietsman.
She has released 3 of her own albums up to date: "Eyes of a Child", "Cake" and "Iemand Het Gesê". Her first album "Eyes of a Child" was nominated for a SAMA award - 'Best Adult Contemporary’. She also impressed with the performance of the title track of the television series "Soutmansland". One of her songs "Sonneblom uit Betlehem" was nominated for 'Best Song of the Year’ – Geraas Awards 2003.
Lize achieved great success at Aardklop 2003: Her solo show "Iemand Het Gesê" was reckoned as one of the top ten shows according to 'people’s choice’ and her compositions for the cabaret "Oënskynlik" created this show as one of the top 10 among journalists.
Her music has recently been described as "Aromatherapy for the Soul".
